Wood-aluminium system for passive housing
The Gemini Passiv is a wood-aluminum window system designed for passive houses. Due to its high strength and performance parameters, such as excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, above average air tightness, air permeability, and resistance to wind load, this system is perfect for use in modern construction with high energy-saving and utility requirements.
The system uses an innovative and durable solution based on foamed PS, which has many of the same properties as wood. Due to this material's rigidity, Gemini system fasteners are mounted directly on it with screws. Other components that distinguish this system from some of the more traditional wood-aluminum designs are the widened main gasket, PE cord, additional middle gasket, and the use of a Swisspacer Ultimate warm edge spacer bar.
As a certified component of Passivhaus Institut, the Gemini Passiv system meets the requirements for passive housing, i.e. Uw < 0.80 W / (m2K) in combination with a triple glazing Ug = 0.7 W / m2K for a cool temperate climate and Gemini Passiv Ultra Uw in development < 0.65 W / (m2K) in combination with a triple-glazed unit Ug = 0.52 W / m2K for a cold climate.
