The 4F1 is a self-supporting thermal break curtain wall with mullions and transoms, with an external cover available in four materials.

Large glazed areas require greater inertia and, consequently, mullions with larger sections. The 4F1 remedies this with structural mullions in steel, stainless steel, or corten steel of reduced sections (50 mm) and an elevated moment of inertia to guarantee the static values required while maintaining the effects of lightness and transparency of the façade.

This curtain wall can configure the design of the frame in a number of possible variants as well as integrate windows and doors for the best performance. The performance of the 4F1 system has been tested by the European certification laboratories according to the standard EN 13830 regulations.

System and Performance
The 4F1 is a system for thermal break curtain walls with mullions and transoms with structural sections of depth from 50 mm t0 180 mm and a width of 50 mm. The elevated elasticity modulus of the metal guarantees a solid structure that is also light and versatile. Air and water tightness is ensured by a multi-level EPDM gasket system made with gutter channel for run-off of any seepage. The 56 mm glazing panel is inserted from the front and placed on specific glass supports that are secured to the structural profiles and fixed to the mullions and transoms by a steel external cover pre-drilled for the application of screws.

Size and Variations
The 4F1 transom/mullion can have depths of 50, 80, 100, 120, 150, or 180 mm. The size of the internal profiles and external covers is 50 mm while the depth of the cover is 16 mm for the mullions and 13 mm for the transoms.

Mullions and Transoms Material
The structural profiles are available in galvanized steel in a wide range of colors and surface finishes, in AISI 304 brushed steel, in AISI 316L polished or Scotch-Brite stainless steel, and in corten steel.

The 4F1 curtain wall comes with specific ending caps, completely concealed, in stainless steel to join the heads of the mullions with the transoms in a variety of possible combinations.
