High Performance Home Tour - Project Entry 5

Project Entry: 5
Featuring Ecofibra 76 Triple-Pane Window System & Decalu Lift-and-Slide Door
Designed by architect Sophie Piesse and built by Newphire Building Corp., this thoughtfully detailed residence reflects a collaborative approach to high-performance design, where sustainability, comfort, and architectural expression work together seamlessly. Working closely with the project team, Eurostar Fenestration provided European window and door systems tailored to support the home's energy-efficient building envelope while enhancing natural light and connection to the surrounding landscape.
The Ecofibra 76 Window System
At the core of the project are Ecofibra 76 triple-pane window systems engineered for exceptional thermal performance and airtightness. The Ecofibra 76 profile is built around a multi-chamber construction — a series of precisely engineered insulation chambers within the uPVC frame that trap air and interrupt heat flow through the profile itself. This chamber-based design is fundamental to the system's thermal performance, working alongside argon-filled triple-pane glazing and low U-values to minimize energy loss at every point in the window unit.
The result is a window system that does not rely on glazing alone to perform. The profile's insulation chambers reduce thermal bridging through the frame, helping to maintain stable interior surface temperatures, limit condensation risk, and support year-round occupant comfort. Carefully positioned throughout the home, the glazing strategy works in tandem with passive solar orientation and deep overhangs to optimize daylight, solar gain, and seasonal efficiency.
Doors: Decalu 163 Lift-and-Slide & Decalu 88 Entry Systems
The residence incorporates a Decalu 163 lift-and-slide door and Decalu 88 aluminum entry door, selected for their clean sightlines, durability, and integration into the home's modern architectural language. Decorative Decalu finishes, powder-coated surfaces inspired by galvanized steel, ceramic exterior detailing, and premium Manital zinc-alloy hardware contribute to a cohesive material palette that balances performance with refined aesthetics.
A Whole-Home Performance Strategy
Built with sustainability and long-term efficiency in mind, the home features a tightly sealed envelope, high-performance insulation assemblies, and advanced mechanical systems designed to reduce overall energy demand while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment throughout the seasons. The fenestration package from Eurostar is integral to that strategy — not simply a product specification, but a system carefully selected to work in concert with every other element of the building envelope. The result is a residence that demonstrates how thoughtfully integrated fenestration — particularly a multi-chamber profile system like the Ecofibra 76 — can play a central role in both building performance and contemporary residential design.
Featured as part of the High-Performance Home Tour, this project highlights the value of close collaboration between architect, builder, and Eurostar in creating homes that are as efficient and durable as they are visually compelling.
